Product Description
Water softening equipment is a device that can reduce water hardness, mainly used to remove calcium and magnesium ions from water, thereby reducing the formation of scale. The working principle of this type of equipment mainly involves using ion exchange resin to replace the calcium and magnesium ions in the water, thus softening the water.
The core component of water softening equipment is cation exchange resin. When the original water containing hardness ions passes through the resin layer inside the changer, the calcium and magnesium ions in the water react with the sodium ions adsorbed on the resin, causing the resin to adsorb the calcium and magnesium while the sodium ions enter the water. Thus, the water flowing out of the exchanger is softened water with hardness removed.
The operation process of water softening equipment mainly includes five steps: operation, backwashing, brining (regeneration), slow rinsing (placement), and fast rinsing. During the operation stage, the water softening equipment starts working and produces softened water. Subsequently, backwashing is conducted to remove contaminants from the upper part of the resin. Next is the brining stage, where brine is injected into the resin tank to prepare for regeneration. In the rinsing stage, raw water is slowly used to rinse the resin layer to thoroughly clean the salt out of the resin. Finally, in the fast rinsing stage raw water is quickly used to rinse the resin to ensure all residual salt is completely washed away.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the water softening equipment remove hardness?
The equipment uses cation exchange resin. As water passes through, calcium and magnesium ions (which cause hardness) are exchanged for sodium ions on the resin surface.
What are the main stages of the system's operation?
The process consists of five key steps: normal operation, backwashing to remove debris, brining for resin regeneration, slow rinsing, and fast rinsing to clear residual salt.
What industries is this equipment suitable for?
It is widely used in pharmaceutical, food and beverage, chemical engineering, metallurgy, and construction industries where softened water is essential for processes or boilers.
What is the expected outlet water hardness?
When the raw water hardness is around 8mmol/L, the system can achieve an outlet water hardness of ≤0.03mmol/L, ensuring highly efficient filtration.
Does the system require manual operation?
No, the system is designed for fully automatic operation, including the regeneration cycles, which reduces labor costs and ensures consistent water quality.
What material is used for the pressure tank?
The tanks are typically constructed from high-quality fiberglass (FRP) or stainless steel, providing excellent durability and resistance to corrosion.
