Dissolved Air Flotation Machine

1. Introduction

Dissolved air flotation machine (DAF) is mainly used for solid-liquid separation and liquid-liquid separation. The flotation device produces large amounts of tiny bubbles through a dissolved gas and release system. These bubbles adhere to solid or liquid particles in the wastewater that have a density close to water, causing the combined density to be smaller than water. The particles then ascend to the surface, achieving effective separation.

2. Work Principle

Air is sent by an air compressor into an air tank, then into a dissolved air tank via a jet flow device. Under 0.35Mpa pressure, the air dissolves into the water. Upon sudden release, this dissolved air forms a vast group of microbubbles. These microbubbles contact and adsorb onto flocculated suspended matter in the sewage, reducing their density and causing them to float to the surface for removal of SS and CODcr.

4. Main Structure

Air Flotation Machine: The steel structure body composed of a releaser, distribution device, sewage pipe, outlet pipe, sludge tank, and scraper system. The releaser creates 20-50UM microbubbles. The scraper continuously removes floated sludge into the sludge pond.

Dissolved Air System: Consists of a dissolved air tank, storage tank, air compressor, and high-pressure pump. The tank features internal baffle plates to improve air-water contact speed.

Chemical Dosing System: Includes metering pumps, mixing motors, and PE tanks.
