Wastewater Sewage Treatment Filter

Multi Media Filter (MMF) refers to a pressure filter vessel which utilizes three or more different medias to reduce the level of suspended solids in process water. Suspended solids can consist of small particles such as silt, clay, grit, organic matter, larvae, zooplankton, algae and other microorganisms.

Industrial Sand Filter

As water flows downward through the bed of MMF, it encounters layers of filtration media with decreasing porosity. Successively smaller particles are removed by each layer, providing true depth filtration and increasing the filters capacity considerably over a sand filter. MMF typically are able to filter particles down to 10-25 micron, it even can achieve as low as 5 micron filtration depending on filter vessel sizing and arrangement.

Backwash Mode Filter

The MMF uses graded support media layers over the under-drain to prevent the layers from migrating into each other during backwashing. The backwash mode reverses the flow of the water through one filter at a time. The water enters the bottom of the vessel which expands the filter media and releases the captured solids.
