This belt press is used for solid & liquid separation processes, particularly sludge dewatering in chemical industries, paper mills, printing and dyeing mills, mining, and water treatment fields.
The dewatering process is primarily obtained by passing a pair of filtering cloths and belts through a system of rollers. The system takes sludge or slurry as a feed and separates it into a filtrate and a solid cake.
1. Dewatering Belt Press is a biosolids/sludge dewatering device that applies mechanical pressure to a chemically conditioned slurry.
2. Slurry is sandwiched between two tensioned belts by passing those belts through a serpentine of decreasing diameter rolls. The machine is divided into three zones: Gravity Zone (free water drainage), Wedge Zone (solids preparation), and Pressure Zone (high pressure application).
3. Typically, it receives slurry ranging from 1-4% feed solids and produces a final product of up to 25% cake solids, depending on the material nature.
